Cruel Clocks

Here we are. It's the second day of Daylight Saving Time, & it was still hard to get up this morning. Why do we go through all the issues related to changing our clocks, twice a year. As the saying goes: The world may never know. The reasons for time shifting have become a bit hazy, over the years. Some say it was for the farmers, others claim it was to save energy. I've even read that Ben Franklin started it to save on expensive candle wax. Most recently, there have been studies that show that the time change leads to everything from higher rates of strokes, to auto accidents going up, just after the change. Why don't we get rid of it, and leave the clock hands alone? It would literally take an act of Congress. With the way that Washington seems to be working, I wouldn't bet on it happening any time soon.
